Greetings, from the weirdest week of the year. I never know what to do or how to feel this week between Christmas and New Year’s. I’m part sad because I miss my family, eating, drinking and being merry. I’m part anxious because there’s an entire year ahead of us with endless possibilities and new challenges and only a handful of days left in the current year to accomplish… whatever is left to accomplish.
But all I really want to do is sit on the couch in my Christmas pajamas, eat my stocking candy and watch Netflix. Is anyone else with me here??
You know what we need right about now?!
A DANCE PARTY!!!!
That’s right. Seems to me, the most logical solution in this strange, emotionally driven week, is to dance.
I was a dancer for 15 years before I traded in my ballet shoes for running shoes. Since then, pretty much the only time I get to dance is at weddings or in my bathroom.
(Bathroom dance moves not pictured here.)
Well, the wedding scene is slowly being replaced by baby showers, and my new bathroom in Charlotte is rather small. So you can imagine my excitement when I discovered DANCE BODY! The newest, coolest way to move your body, work muscles you didn’t even know you had, get toned and feel inspired. Ready to sign up?
This intense form of cardio dance exercise brings joy, excitement and dripping sweat to every single participant.
Guess what?! You can stream this workout from the comfort of your den with DanceBody@Home. Check out the class options here.
Not a dancer? No problem! The classes are designed for you to experience a dance-inspired workout with no prior dance experience. You can start with the Sculpt, Foundations or Follow Along classes and work up to the more difficult classes.
The Signature class is the one that “started it all” – the dance instructors choreograph monthly dances kept on a 2-month cycle. It requires a bit more focus and coordination than the classes listed above. Loads of fun. Killer workouts.
I participated in the Follow Along class when Maddie and Sam visited us in Charlotte. I’ll be honest with you… I was out late the night before being… “social,” and was not feeling a big workout that Saturday. But I had already paid for the class and wanted to support my Fit Atelier friends. Let me tell you what, I smiled and sweat non-stop for 60 minutes and walked out of that studio feeling like a new woman.
If you don’t believe me, check them out on Instagram @dancebody and their Holiday Bundles on the website, which include different combinations of the subscriptions, equipment and merchandise.
I honestly cannot think of a better way to lift your spirits and have fun while exercising, all in the comfort of your own home. Just sayin’. This may very well be our solution to the post-holiday blues.
